PHC Holdings Corporation Sells All Shares of Its Associate, Lunaphore Technologies SA
PHC Holdings Corporation (headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan, President, Representative Director and CEO: Shoji Miyazaki, hereafter PHCHD) announces that it has concluded a share transfer agreement on sales of all stock in Lunaphore Technologies SA (hereafter Lunaphore) to Bio-Techne Corporation. Lunaphore will no longer be a PHCHD associate upon this transfer.
Lunaphore is a life sciences company located in Switzerland. It offers next-generation products to support cancer research, and is developing ultra-fast automated tissue staining instruments for rapid immunohistochemical staining (IHC). PHCHD initially invested in the company in February 2020, followed by an additional investment in December 2022. The agreement of transferring 100% stock of Lunaphore was offered by Bio-Techne Corporation. PHCHD will continue to explore potential collaborations with Lunaphore, as well as expand its IHC solutions business through its own initiatives.
With this sale, PHCHD expects to primarily record a gain related to the stock sales in an associate in the second quarter of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024. There will be no change in the previously announced forecast for the year.
