Work-Life Balance Project
The PHC Group started work-life balance (WLB) activities in 2014, primarily at PHC Corporation. Our goal is to create a positive cycle between work and private life to make each employee's everyday life even more fulfilling. To this end, we embrace diverse ways of working, encourage a balanced and efficient work style, and implement activities that create synergy between work and life. All employees belonged to one of the activity teams and set their own goals for the activity. The team members discussed the issues and took measures to solve them, and held a debriefing session to confirm the results in each of the following areas: "work," "team communication," and "life."
Throughout the three years of company-wide activities from 2017 to 2019, team members gained respect for each other, eepened their understanding, and improved communication. As a result, we achieved concrete results in terms of synergy between work and life, such as increased use of working from home and paid leave, and a reduced overtime hours.
Work-Life Balance activities are not promoted only by the members of the activities, but have firmly been incorporated into the company as a company-wide initiative, with management and managers taking the lead in supporting the activities. In addition to receiving requests from other companies to share the details of our activities and case studies posted on our website, our activities have been featured in books regarding work style reform.
