Because media, enzymes and other feedstocks associated with cell culture must be stored for the short term in highly stable environments, PHCbi offers a complete line of products that operate over a broad range of temperatures.
 
 
 

For Growth

Regardless of the media or the vessel, cell culture requires accurate temperature and gas control. The PHCbi product line includes an array of laboratory incubators engineered to replicate in vivo conditions in vitro. A prerequisite to reproducibility, PHCbi incubators are available with automatic CO2 and CO2/O2 control. Contamination management methods include H2O2, high heat sterilization, UV decontamination and inherent germicidal material application of copper-infused surfaces which prohibit growth of airborne pathogens.

Regardless of why cells or grown, the need for long-term preservation continues to proliferate worldwide. When ultra-low temperatures are required, the demand for more energy-efficient freezers has led to the development of ENERGY STAR® Certified ultra-low freezers designed to minimize power consumption without sacrificing performance in temperature recovery, interior uniformity and smart restart functions to assure stored specimen safety.
 
 
 

For the Archive

Temperatures required for indeterminate storage of biological specimens must be sustained safely below the -129°C recrystallization point of water. The development of the PHCbi cryogenic freezer eliminates the need for liquid nitrogen as a primary cooling medium in achieving an air phase storage temperature of -150°C. Because liquid nitrogen is expensive, wasteful, dangerous to handle and difficult to manage, the air phase method of cryogenic storage offers significant economic benefits.
